Our good neighbours in Parkdale are holding their 27th annual “Crafts and More Fair” later this week. Check out the poster for details or click here.
Drop by the Bowness Seniors Club (6422 35 Ave NW) between 3:30 and 8:00 p.m. on October 23 to learn more about the Bowness Offload Sanitary Trunk project, which will provide much-needed additional sanitary capacity to northwest Calgary. Construction is expected to start on the project before the end of 2014, so this is a great opportunity to give feedback in the final planning stages. Some information about the project is already posted at www.calgary.ca/sanitarytrunk, and more will go up after the open house as well.
The end-of-season potluck for friends of the community garden is coming up on October 26, starting at 5:15 at the community centre. Bring a favourite dish to share. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. RSVP to Janine, at the community centre– firstname.lastname@example.org; 403-247-3116.
It was an especially good year in the community garden. Everything grew like crazy and there was a LOT of delicious produce to share. A rubber walkway went down, making travel within the garden easier. And it was just plain fun to be part of such a successful season.
Update, Oct 6: In Montalban Park today.
Some Montgomery-Area parks are getting their branches removed as of Saturday, Oct. 4. It’s not clear how extensive this phase of debris removal will be in our community (we aren’t scheduled for full clean-up until November), but every step gets us closer to bare ground.
