The federal election is coming up in October. Montgomery is within the newly created Calgary Confederation riding. The 15th annual Bowmont Natural Enviornment Park Photo Contest is underway. Deadline is 6 November, for photos taken between January 1 and Oct. 31, 2015. You may have already seen construction signs going up on 16th Ave. around Canada Olympic Park. In the next eighteen months the Transcanada Highway (16th Ave) will be lowered and a bridge will be constructed to carry Bowfort Road over it. After the devastation of the 2014 September Snowstorm, The City is launching a community initiative to help bring back our trees, called ReTree YYC. They invite us all to be part of it. There will be events all around the city in the next two months. In our neighbourhood, come out June 28, between 10 and 3, to Bowness Park, where there will be booths, demos, tips, talks, food, and kids’ activities to help us all learn to be better tree caretakers.
