Concepts of Community
They are questions we're asked often: "Where are you from?" and "What part of the city do you line in?" For most readers of this newsletter, the answer is Montgomery.
Montgomerythe place on the map, the place we go to school, the place we come home to, the place we workour community. Have you ever thought about what community is beyond being a place?
Community is the way others see us and whether acknowledged or not, it becomes part of our identity.
Community is the harmonious function of people living, working and contributing to the neighbourhood. It's the way we associate with each other.
When you see the greatness in yourself as a member of a community then you begin to see that in everyone else as well.
Community is not only a place of belongingbut also a sense of belonging, of living under one sun and one moon.
Community is life. It has a pulse, the pulse of the people who live within its circle and of those whose lives are touched by it.
Community Association membership affirms an understanding and continuation of these concepts. And, very importantly, it magnifies our bond as the people of Montgomery.
