General Meeting Recap, February 2013
On Feb. 26, Montgomery met as a community to go over the MCA's activities in 2012 and preview the year ahead. It was an evening of good news, as our MLA, Donna Kennedy-Glans, presented two checks from the Province to support the MCA's operations and the efforts of the Business Revitalization Zone and Montgomery Improvement Society to beautify and highlight what's special about our community. The vice-president and committees working on programs and projects reported a great deal of positive activity this past year, from another multi-ton community clean-up to the best quilting retreat yet. And the report on the finances of the MCA was encouraging (please click through to see attached summary).

Seventh Annual Noktoberfest
The community got together at the MCA on the night of November 3 to socialize, dance, bid on donated items to raise money for good causes, and enjoy excellent home-made food and shooters. Not only was this a fun event, but it did raise donations as we go into the holiday season. A good day in Montgomery.

Third Annual Quilt Retreat
This year's Quilt 'Til U Wilt Quilt Retreat, held Oct 19-21 at the MCA, was a big success. Lots of dedicated quilters, sharing their passion for the craft, and an engaging evening talk by Dorothy Thomson, a confessed "quilt-o-holic." Pictures of the event can be viewed Here . |
