Mark the calendar and start thinking about whether you have awkward things to get rid of for free.
On Sunday May 6, 2018 the annual clean-up will be taking place at the community centre. We welcome volunteers to do a range of work that day. Please consider joining our enthusiastic team, a few hours makes a BIG difference! For more information click on the poster.
The community clean-up is history, but we can still keep the spring cleaning going. There are lots of places nearby to take things that you no longer need, without adding to the landfills. For a complete list, click on the link below.
A few details of special interest this year:
Organics should be bagged in paper for disposal. Free paper organics/yard waste bags are available for pickup in advance at the Community Centre (max 5 per household).
Mattresses can be accepted, but they must be bagged– mattress bags will also be available in advance at the Community Centre
We’re already planning Montgomery’s Annual Community Clean-Up, set for May 2. It’s a great event that’s given many people a chance to get rid of hard-to-discard items. We need volunteers to help unload trucks, direct traffic, and so forth. If you think you might be able to help out, just give us a call at the community centre and let us know.
There are some great options for disposing of real trees this year. Place ’em by black trash bin and they will be picked up by the City in coming weeks, or drop ’em off at one of the designated tree recycling locations. For more info click here.
